DevLog #8 - Finishing A Demo
The Field [Pre-Alpha] ยป Devlog
Hello again, After working a bit on my design doc, I decided to purely focus on two main parts. The intro (or tutorial if you will), and the forest puzzle. I have completed a sort of inefficient but easy to implement objective system. Simply put, I have a script that hold information about a certain objective (title, description, completion, next objective, etc.). Then I create a GameObject for each objective to keep track of them (sigh). It's really messy but it WORKS thats the point.
So in my interaction script, I just say "set THIS objective to finished" and if the game manager sees a finished objective as the current one, it sets the next objective. Using this I made an outline of the intro and forest puzzle. As of right now you can techincally 'complete' the game being a demo right now. So the next step if adding the visual element. Replacing textures, adding landscape models, adding buildings and decor. This is the main objective as of right now, but soon I will begin storyboarding and programming the cinematics into the game. Soon soon. Well here is the update, see you for the next one!-purple
